Roughly half of that had the newborn size diaper wrapped around it (the whole length of the rolled diaper), the other 4 full inches were stabbed into the styrofoam ball. When you stab the skewers in, do it as straight as possible, without wiggling, and don't try to reposition it once you've stuck it in, as this loosens the hole area. I think I've made about 100 of these this way and have never had any of the diapers fall off. Just be sure that you have enough length of skewer in the diaper, and inside the styrofoam ball. Best of luck and happy creating! The Mrs.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05888696952470531298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3565068963634623413.post-25239837178447943392015-10-08T10:41:53.688-07:002015-10-08T10:41:53.688-07:00Hi,

However the 1st time i made them, the diapers kept falling off. Am I missing something here or should do something in a different way? Should I use hotglue to stick the skewers to the styrofoam ball? It was so cute and very special between us. she always came to borrow a roll of toilet paper when she lived close and I would tell her she could keep it I didn't want it back! LOL! Now she is pregnant and I wanted to send something equally unique for the baby but I ran out of time. She lives out of town but I'm going to try making this and sending it to her snail mail when the baby arrives! I wish I had seen your idea sooner as I would have made the time for last weeks baby shower! I love this idea as it is for the mom and the baby! I may use a larger size as it's going on 2 years and she still has the toilet paper cake! thanks for an out of the box idea! You can also hot glue the foam ball to the mouth if the fit seems precarious and you want to give it a little extra hold so it doesn't fall apart, however this will make it so the vase is pretty much non re-usable.The Mrs.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05888696952470531298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3565068963634623413.post-68021177544085349702013-03-21T03:09:08.307-07:002013-03-21T03:09:08.307-07:00This is adorable.
