"Show Time" A Movie Themed Birthday Party
Everything you need to throw the most incredible back yard Movie party, including
FREE Printables!!!
*info on that awesome invite at the bottom of the post*
Movie screen outside, complete with Red Carpet
Movie screen was made with a roll of white coated paper, you can use a white sheet as well, attached to 4 long 2x4's on the top and bottom, and one on each side to make a frame, then we leaned it against our fence, and used large clamps (found at any home improvement store) to secure it to the fence so it didn't fall over. Then I took 2 red twin sheets, and staple gunned them to the top to look like curtains.
the banner across the top was made with black scrapbook paper and 12" gold stars found at Oriental Trading.
Red Carpet found at Amazon.
Concession stand with sodas, every movie candy I could find and of course... POPCORN!
Popcorn boxes found at Hobby Lobby.
Triangle Banners made from scrapbook paper.

Party goers parted with a favor bag filled with a packet of popcorn, a handy and party-coordinating popcorn box, a full size candy bar, and a "Thank You" note with a code for a free RedBox movie.

I love your ideas! I'm working on planning my daughter's 10th birthday, and we've decided on a backyard movie party as well.
ReplyDeleteI have two questions for you.
I adore your invitations and the promo code thank yous that you created. I am clueless when it comes to photo shop, so I was wondering if you'd be willing to sell me the template? (If so, how much?)
Also, how did you get RedBox promo codes? I love that idea for a party favor!! So cute and unique!!
I also love the cupcake liners with candy in them, so the kiddos can mix and match instead of having to pick one box of one candy, or whatever. Such great ideas! Thank you for this post!
Thank you so much Jessa! your daughter is going to LOVE it!!
DeleteOf course we can work something out with the invites. Email me and we can discuss off the board.

HA! Just kidding. Right after I submitted my comment, I scrolled up and found the RedBox promo info. Doh!
ReplyDeleteI'd still be interested in your invites, though! They're super cute!
Hello, I would be very interested in purchasing the Thank you cards, can you contact me at debbiebutcher at comcast dot net if you are willing to sell them? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi, can you tell me where did you purchase the paper for the screen? I'm having trouble figuring out what to use for the screen. Thanks a bunch!
ReplyDeleteHi Felicia! I used a roll of white vinyl photography backdrop paper. You can purchase a roll online at any photography supply store. I use B&H Photo. I did just find this 6x9 ft. roll on Amazon for $31.54, here is the link:
